The WINTECH COMPUSET is a state-of-the-art contour cutter for profiling expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam. Its multiple hot-wires are automatically positioned to the specified quantity and spacing by the system controller and machines can be supplied in 20- and 40-wire versions.

This machine has many advantages, including rapid job set-up, accurate and automatic wire spacing, powerful software, and the high productivity that comes with multiple-wire profiling.

The Profiler software is simple to use so that operators have a minimal learning curve and yet has features available to ensure that the software keeps pace with a business.

Tilting Cutting Frame

The machine’s cutting frame tilts for multiple wire sheet cutting. Tilting the cutting frame ensures that the wires leave at different times to give clean sheet end cuts.

Hot Wire Holder Magazine

Available in 20- or 40-hot-wire versions with each of the hot wires retained by a pair of hot-wire holders.

Ease of Use and Setup Versatility

Automated Wire Loading and Positioning

Loading the hot wires is as simple as just typing in the quantity and spacing required into the Wintech Profiler software. Up to ten different spacings can be loaded, making it possible to cut a range of different thickness sheets in a single pass. Loading a maximum of 40 hot wires takes just over a minute.

Single-Wire Profiling

For large shapes or low-volume work, only a single wire need be loaded. Using the powerful Wintech Profiler Software, new shapes are quickly drawn and nested or existing ones loaded and then cut. A variety of shapes can be profiled in one block.

Single-Pass Profiling

Some profiles, where the top and bottom edges may fit together along a common line, can be cut in a single pass using multiple hot wires. This not only provides a higher speed of processing, but also an improved usage of the foam block.

Multiple-Wire Profiling

Most smaller profiles can be cut simultaneously with multiple hot wires in rows. The combination of rapid setup, accuracy and speed all result in significantly higher productivity than single-wire cutting.

Slabbing and Down Cutting

In addition to simple sheet cutting, the Compuset’s multiple wires can also be programmed to move up and down. This allows sheets and rectangular pieces to be cut to desired thickness and length in one simple process.
